Latest SGA ep

Just saw the latest SGA episode -- Brotherhood? Yeah, that's it. Anyway, reaction in the following cut:

Well, it was -- okay. At least, I liked half of it, and absurdly enough, I liked the "B" story, where they've just established long-distance scanning due to some sort of technical glitch, and omigawd what's that Wrait scout ship doing there? Maybe it's because I like the testy, scrabbly Eastern European scientist (could be he reminds me of some of my relatives), or that I liked the straightforwardness of it. And I'm always looking for the doctor.

Didn't like the main story so much. Am a bit tired of us vs. the bad humans vs. the native peoples. Rodney's reactions to the nice lady scientist's crush was cute, and well done. But... okay, you've got a library with lots of books, and Ancient writings, and old symbols, and ruins, and stuff, and who do you have examining all the material? A physicist, two soldiers, and a leader from another civilization. Just because they couldn't get Daniel, does it mean they don't have one or two archeologists and/or linguists in Atlantis? Or are we going to assume Rodney is going to be even more of an all-around genius than Sam -- who at least turns to Daniel when something needs to be translated....

Sorry. I'm in a bad mood tonight. Don't mean to diss Rodney, who is a fun character whom I am very fond of. But there were too many, "Why didn't he...?" moments in this one. (Although the way they got out of the situation was fun. And I loved the Mensa references.)

Anyways, there it is...
